Just curious. What exactly do they believe in these days?
Russia is a democracy. They have a lot of different parties, each of which has its own values. Of course there are still communists dreaming of the good ol’ days, but there are also people believing in capitalism. There are nationalist parties, probably ecology buffs, Social Democrats and whatnot. Asking which ideology “the Russians” believe in is like asking which ideology Americans, Britons, or any other nation believe in.
I have heard their government described as a “kleptocracy”. But then what government isn’t? But the Russians are a bit more blatant than average.
