Whatever happened to Hitler after the Allied Forces won World War II? I think the common belief is that he blew his brains out to avoid capture. Can anyone give some insight into where he went and how he died?
From memory:
According to a recent History Channel special, he did in fact kill himself before the Allies got to him. I cannot remember if it was actually a bullet or lethal dose of drugs.
In all of the chaos, Russia spirited his body away and buried it in a random location in Moscow, which is now a parking lot behind a restaurant.
It was there for a number of years, before it was moved again during the cold war, for fear that people would find out and try to exhume it.
According to Russian records, it was moved atleast once more.
Russia apparently got tired of worrying about it, and cremated the skeleton until it was ashes, and dumped it down a sewer drain.
There are a few fragments of Hitler tucked away in the vaults of some Russian agency. On the History Channel show, they produced what is thought to be a portion of Hitler’s skull complete with bullet hole. Stalin apparently was quite obsessed with making sure they had the right guy so Hitler was dug up and examined a few times before being destroyed.
According to Antony’s Beevor’s “Fall of Berlin”, Hitler & Eva Braun died together - one or both of them pulling the trigger - alone in a small yard outside his Berlin bunker. Afterwards, as instructed, his underlings burnt the bodies and covered them sonehow. Goebbels and his wife did the same in the same spot a short while after. The Russians did indeed find the charred remain, eventually, and sent them - minus Hitler’s jawbone (which was entrusted to a female Red Army officer for identification purposes) - to a secret location. I think they disposed of them eventually.
But what about Hitler’s penis?
I think it tried to shoot Eva a couple of times as well. The thing was just about nuts.
Hitler went to Hell.
He’s still there.
I’ve seen marky33’s suggestion in a few different places–never heard of the whole Stalin/KGB/Russian parking lot thing before. Where did the History Channel get that from?
Once a day he gets a Pineapple shoved up his ass.
In The Conquerors Beschloss says that the body was buried in Berlin (minus fragments used for identification from dental records), and that years later the Russians moved the body in the middle of the night to a more secure location for fear that neo-Nazis would dig up the body.
My memory is not clear on whether the body’s first resting place was the headquarters of the Stasi parking lot, or whether that was a later grave, but I seem to remember some connection to either Stasi headquarters or the Stasi training academy (and a parking lot).
Here’s a picture of all that is purported to remain of Adolf Hitler.
According to that History Channel special, they’re normally kept in a shoebox in a locked cabinet. Though the state archives DID have them on a special public display, a few years back.
beevor has it dead wrong.
Hitler and Braun went into Hitlers private chamber in his bunker in Berlin, while the remaining staff waited outside. After a minute or so, a single shot was heard, then nothing. The door was opened and Hitler was found with a pistol by his side, having shot himself through the mouth, from which blood was dripping. Eva Braun choose to take cyanide instead of shooting herself.
The bodies were taken to a nearby courtyard where they were doused with gasoline and set afire. Russian shells were hitting the courtyard so no one stayed around to see the complete cremation, but later on the remains of the bodies were taken from the courtyard.
He came to America where he appeared on Ed Sullivan doing Charlie Chaplin impersonations. Today, he is in a nursing home run by the actor’s guild.

They talked to two former SMERSH guys who were (Claimed that they were) there. They said that they determined that Adolf and Eva Hitler, were burned in a pit with 200 gallons of gas and the buried. One of the lower level guard-type guys who had helped in the Bunker copped a few days later – the Soviets had found a dead Hilter body double and for a while that threw them off… and Stalin got a little freaked by that (and was anyway) and really demanded everything be double & triple checked.
The Hitlers, with Joseph and Magda Goebbels and thier kids, were recovered and identified in Berlin (including by Hitler’s Dentist), then were transported first to a Berlin suburb and temporarily interned. Within a couple years, the Hitlers were disinterred & transported to Magdeburg (nitpickingly not as it says above in Russia), at the site of a SMERSH or other Soviet Intel Service base (forget) that site became a garage in the 70’s.
I am missing a bunch of repeated exhumations, examinations and re-burials in Madeburg but that was the gist of what these guys said and the convinced the HC Documentary crew that they and this was true. In Moscow there is a skull fragment which is supposed to be Hitler’s that I think came from one of the Madeburg digs.
What? No stories about how moved to South America and lived there for several years.
I always liked this version best.
Hitler saw the end coming and left Germany. It was his double that was found by the Russians.
He shaved the old moustache and bleached his new crewcut and uniformed as an injured American pilot. He used the identification taken from a pilot that had been shot down over Germany several months before.
He had already learned English, so he understood the language. But his accent was too noticeable and that’s why he faked an injury. With the bandages on his face and jaw, he simply mumbled with a rasp and made it to the East Coast without ever being noticed.
While aboard a ship bound for the states. Hitler gained the confidence of another American pilot. The two of them became friends over the next several months and were often seen together at various political events.
The friendship came to an end when the American learned that his wife and “friend” had been having an affair. She was pregnant with the bastard child that would be born in July of 1946, just a couple of days after Independence Day. The American pilot kept the child and even gave him his own name, so no one would ever question his ancestry. But it was soon obvious the boy had a mean streak and wasn’t too bright either.
The real father, Hitler…Well, it’s rumored that he was sent to some hellhole in South Texas, called Zapata and was running an oil business for the Yankee. Others claim that he simply disappeared or was assassinated by the up and coming CIA operative whom he had screwed over back in Maine. But there’s no “real evidence” to support this conspiracy, so it has been hogwashed out of existence.
I think he’s using some alien secret of eternal life and is the CEO of the so-called illuminati that doesn’t exist.
Heil to the Chief

Just a quick question…what was the “official” story on what happened to Hitler’s body, back during the Cold War? What would the average American in, say, 1965 have probably heard about Hitler’s corpse?
Soon after WWII ended, we heard he had shot himself and that his body was found in a bunker. The fact that he was dead was enough for most people and we didn’t give a (fill in the blank) about how the corpse was disposed of.
I think it would be a porcupine , but I won’t quibble over it.
Unless… unless of course he repented at the last minute. Then he’d be living it up in Paradise, while laughing his ass off at the Jews who didn’t repent…
of being Jews!

True Blue are you surmising that Hitler whispered “Jesus Saves” as he pulled the trigger? :dubious: [sup]Now there is an original thought.[/sup]
