What should a new U.S. motto be? (instead of "In God We Trust")

“Catholicism WOW!”

“Money Talks”

and “In God We Trust” would have to dumbed down to “We Trust God.”

Ninja’d by 4 minutes, so you win this thread in my book. There is nothing more American than money talks.

And is that your aspirational ideal?

Frankly, I was hoping for less joking and less cynicism in this thread. Perhaps I should have known better.

I really like this (and that’s the least cynical thing I’ve said all week).

In fact, I’m sanding down all my coins and carving this onto them.

Oh, maybe the quarters and nickels get this. The Sacajaweas, dimes and pennies get “Party On, Dudes!”

"We don’t need no stinking motto!'.

Seriously. Mottos are stupid. People take them too critically. Similar to flags.

Buy one Supreme Court justice, get one free.

How about “We Put the Funk in Dysfunctional.”?

Or, remember the the oh-so-American protest sign “Get a Brain Morans!”? In that same spirit I propose: “We Put the Amen in America!”

I don’t have a dog in this fight but how about “What, me worry?”

Naahh, too literary. The allusion will go over the heads of the people it’s aimed at. You know, the “morans”.

“Guilty Until Proven Wealthy”

“A fool and his/her/their money are soon parted.”

I’m gonna sue.

“Ow My Balls!”

“It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time.”

“Don’t Give Me No Lip”

“We’re Not All Bad”

In money we trust

I’ll say it one last time. This wasn’t intended to be a joke thread, nor a “more cynical than thou” thread, when I started it. I was hoping for some inspiration for myself, if nothing else. Oh well, one can’t control where one’s thread goes once you release it into the wild.

“Of the People, By the People, For the People”

[on edit: sheesh! I just bumped bump!]
