The United States has reached out to Denmark and other European nations asking if they can export eggs as Americans face surging egg prices, the Nordic country’s egg association said on Friday.
I must assume those eggs would be part of a tariff-free contingent, and considering how desperate the tanTrump administration (I use this term loosely, bear with me) is on getting them, I guess the Danes would get away with some cheeky printing on the eggs. Eggs are small, the printing cannot be too high resolution or detailed, more than one colour seems impractical.
What would you print on the eggs?
I would print something resembling his comb-over on the pointy end and “trumpty dumpty” across the belly.
I can’t think of anything funny or relevant to print on eggs, but this is an interesting situation, notably because in the EU, it’s illegal to wash eggs; in the USA, it’s mandatory to wash them. I’m assuming the exporting countries would not be washing them to order (why would they have the equipment to do that?). They’ll have to use waterprooof ink,
Indeed, this was also my thought. (It’s why we leave eggs out at room temp. Unwashed, they’re sealed and airtight. Washed, the shell becomes porous, which is why eggs have to be refrigerated in the US.) Whatever gets printed on the egg will need to survive the washing process that will be applied by US authorities on import.
