It wasn’t until my fifth trip to New Orleans that I had a hurricane. Didn’t want to look like a tourist. But eventually I had to have one just to say I had. (Eh. It’s a fruity, expensive alcohol drink. Dixie Beer is much cheaper.)
The conference is in Baton Rouge, so it’s probably not the same one. It would have been cool if we could have had a New Orleans Dopefest! (but you’ll be at our little get-together on April 9th, right?) I’ll be in New Orleans on Monday, and on Tuesday we’re moving on to Baton Rouge, then on Wednesday we’re going back to New Orleans to jet off to Raleigh-Durham. I think we’ll be in Baton Rouge most of the day on Wednesday, but our flight leaves late, so I hope we get to have a nice dinner in New Orleans before we go.
I’m planning on packing a lot into Monday, because our flight leaves early so I should have almost all day Monday to do fun things. I don’t remember the name of the hotel I’m staying at Monday night, but it’s close to all the good stuff, so I can get a good start on this long list of things to do! Muffalettas and pralines, of course, and lots of good music. And probably a hurricane, because I like fruity drinks, and I’m not ashamed of that. The Funky Butt sounds interesting.
When I get home, I’ll have to make some jambalaya. I haven’t made jambalaya for a looooong time.
