What Should I Do In San Francisco?

That felt like a big quake because you were near it and you’re not used to them. A 3.5 is not a big earthquake.

If you’re in San Ramon, you should definitely go to Zachary’s. There is one in the shopping center at Crow Canyon.

Getting to the wine country from the 680 corridor is quite doable, if that’s your thing. You could also go to wineries in Livermore, which will have fewer tourists.

As others have noted, a 3.5 quake is significant but aside from a few broken dishes not a big deal. If it matters, it was the Calaveras fault and the USGS rated it a M3.6. There may be a few aftershocks of diminished magnitude over the next few days. As Midwesterner you have bigger things to worry about depending on how close you live to the New Madrid Seismic Zone.

Don’t think earthquakes can’t affect Chicago…

You can leave your heart there.

And here I was all set to hear that you had fallen in love with someone!

Hey, do Beach Blanket Babylon, as suggested upthread, if you can. It’s a must-see, and a unique SF experience. Make an evening of it and go to nice dining spot in SF. There are dozens and dozens of them-- not all pricey.

Damn you! I’m in downtown SF and I didn’t feel a thing. I LIKE non-damaging earthquakes, they fun, just like big ass thunderstorms.

:p;)

You can have your earthquakes! I’ll take an Illinois tornado over a California earthquake any day.

The first earthquake I ever felt was when I was in Urbana at UIUC. So you might be in for a shock someday.
