What should I do with a bottle of '75 Brane-Cantenac?

It looks like it might be corked, or getting there. There has been some evaporation. Upon opening, should we drink it right away, let it air out, decant the whole thing first, or decant it and then let it sit for a while?

Also, what can I expect from a good 1997 white Burgundy? Can I let it go any longer, or is it time to Drink Now?

Thanks,

As far as the Brane Cantenac is concerned according to Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate review, last done it 1997, it had already reached or gone past its maturity date. The 1997 review gave it a rating of 83. My suggestion would be to taste it realizing that it may be put to better use as part of a salad dressing.

All white burgundies from 1997, according to reviews on *Wine Advocate[/I and Wine Spectator, are already past their maturity. This was not a particularly good year for aging of the whites.

Wow, that’s… hilariously bad news. But thanks for looking it up.
