What should I do with my old He Man stuff?

So more storage digging came up with a bunch of old Eighties He Man action figures and two play sets: Castle Greyskull and Snake Mountain, both pretty complete (though the latter has a missing eye sticker and one of the exterior chains is almost broken completely because of transit from home, goddammit).

I’ve got most of the main characters in the figures, though some have limb issues (as in I have said legs, they are currently unattached). I also have a bunch of weapons and other accessories from both those figures and others I have in storage.

I could keep them for a while; I’m not hurting for storage space. I could try eBay like I did for my video games. I could take it to the local toy memorabilia shop for cash or store credit.

Any thoughts, either on general worth or what to do with them?

Stage a huge battle, record it, and put it on youtube.

Film a stop animation episode using the toys.

You could glue an orange circus peanut to He-Man’s head, paint Castle Grayskull gold and use them in a parody inauguration diorama. Skeletor would make a pretty lifelike Mike Pence too.

“By the power of numbskulls, I HAVE THE POWER!”

Or just sell them on eBay.

I’d look on eBay first, some of those older 80s figures are worth some good money, even things like the He Man and such can be. You might even be able to just sell the weapons since they are original. I will say some things are not worth the hassle, like the bigger items, due to shipping.

eBay. I sold my brother’s Transformers on there over a decade ago and made good money (he asked me to, don’t worry!) The big stuff is shippable - make the buyer pay for shipping!

See if you can donate them to the Robot Chicken guys. They would use them, they’re always chewing through toys like that to make their sketches.

Enjoy,
Steven

Send them to Alan Oppenheimer.

I know Castle Greyskull is worth a decent amount even open and assembled so that will probably be worth selling.

“Behold the gaseous stench of Skeletor’s breakfast burrito!”

You could call them custom Son of Zorn toys and then sell them on Ebay.

Those or Craigslist would be good ideas. Just don’t throw any out without trying to find it a new home.

I sold all mine for $30 at a garage sale back in 1990. Including Castle Greyskull, Snake Mtn, and a few vehicles. Kind of regretted it, from time to time, but oh well.

:smack:

I’d probably do the same thing today that I did with them as a child. Much entertainment value can be derived from action figures and firecrackers…

ETA: It’s not a doll, mom!!!
