What should I do with this wine?

It’s worth bearing in mind that not all wines improve with age, or even keep for that long. I once had a friend excitedly crack open a bottle she’d been saving for a special occasion only to find it was now undrinkable vinegar. That was white wine with a screw-cap though. I’m afraid I can’t advise as to how one tells whether a wine ages well or not…

Ok, so I guess I shouldn’t angst over this bottle, it’s probalby just a souvenir from a nice vacation with her husband. Thanks for the info and advice y’all.

Hmmm, I just remembered a recently married friend drinks wine (you should have seen us when she came over for movie night and brought a bottle for herself. We discovered drywall anchors cannot be used in lieu of a corkscrew.), I bet she’d appreciate it.

If it’s an attractive bottle, you might be able to use it as decor. I’ve seen lots of nice little kitchen or dining room displays with wine bottles.

One thing I know, from many boozy holidays in Europe, is that the 2 euro wine that tastes fabulous while you’re on holiday can taste like vinegar once you get it home.

Make coq au vin. Then, if your friend asks, you can tell her the wine was delicious!

Well whatever you do, don’t give it to ftg

before you do, **if ** you do, check your state’s stand and that of your mom’s (if she’s not in texas) state regarding wine shipping. some states permit it, some don’t.

Don’t be dissing screw tops. They once where a sign of a cheap wine. Corks lasted way to long because of snobbery and tradition. Corks may contain bacteria that will spoil the wine. What other products do we buy that are sealed with cork? Twist tops don’t have this problem and can be used to re-seal the bottle for the next day.

That made me laugh!

Oh, oh I can only post once every 60 seconds - drums fingers.

Why don’t you cook with it?

Good suggestion but I don’t actually cook. (I’ve turned on the stove once since February)

I think I’ve decided to take it over to my just married friend as a belated wedding gift. I’m pretty sure she’ll enjoy it.
