What should I watch while treadmilling?

I’ll be picking up a treadmill soon and incorporating it into my daily routine. I’m also getting a nice TV to plop in front of it.

So naturally my mind is occupied deciding what to watch whilst I mill my tread.

I’ll be doing a half hour every day. I have access to Netflix streaming, DVDs, and DVR.

Half-hour or hour-long shows shouldn’t matter; I have no problem pausing and resuming the next day.

I am even considering watching movies but I have a feeling that would be less than ideal.

So, do you treadmill or otherwise work out while watching a telly? What do you watch?

(I have a few possibilities in mind but I’d like Doper input)

Thanks,

Time lapse POV videos, and it will seem you’re running really fast. Dress up like The Flash for effect.

I’m a bit of a news junkie, so I’d watch that a lot. Or baseball during the world season.

My gym has individual TV screens in front of their stationary bikes, and I tend to watch the SEPN channels or the news channels.

I watched all of the new Doctor Who on the exercise bike over the past year. I used to DVR a few sitcoms and watch them while exercising, but there aren’t any that I care about enough to watch.

On weekends, I’ll watch a football game.
Other than that…I don’t know. I got myself a Chromecast, and keep putting off signing up for Netflix…but I’ll have to do that eventually so I can keep going.

I made my wife a stand for her iPad, and she records TV shows, downloads them to the iPad, and then watches while on the treadmill.

Go here and choose from thousands of old Bollywood movies. Most are not subtitled, no point following the plot, just enjoy the medium, listen to Lata Mangeshkar singing in nearly all of them and wastch the dance routines

Well, you asked for my opinion.

Airplane!

Someone hadda say it, and it might as well be me.

I would say something like Jeopardy. It would keep your brain busy and distracted instead of thinking how boring it is to exercise on a treadmill.
There’s a show I like called Brain Games on the National Geographic channel that shows the many intricacies of the brain. They include some fun brain teasers, contests between sexes on whose brain works better, cool optical illusions and it’s a nice mental distraction.

Ha! **Jeopardy **is exactly what I had in mind.

Other options: The Daily Show, a sit-com from beginning-to-end (thinking maybe **Cheers ** or The Simpsons), possibly a drama beginning-to-end (Sopranos, Game of Thrones, neither of which I’ve ever seen).
mmm

Here’s another vote for Jeopardy and/or Wheel of Fortune.

Basically for the same reasons too, it will give your brain something active to do while you’re moving.

Sports are good if you’re a deep enough fan to do more than just watch, but figure it out as well. “Oh man look at the guard pull on that strong-side toss!” “He really got him on that low-slider” that kind of thing
