Poll forthcoming. Left on my Honda SI.
Mine’s on the annoying side.
From which reference point? I assume the driver’s.
Your passengers ride backwards ? The left is both the drivers left and all passengers left except in weirdo cases like old school station wagons with the rear facing seat in the back.
I assume he did left and right instead of drivers side/passenger side to make all results mean the same thing whether in the US and right side driving countries vs left side driving countries.
I have two cars. The gas cap is on the driver’s side on one, and the passenger’s side on the other.
You know, there have been some spectacularly mundane polls over the years, but may I ask if there’s any particular point to this one?
I’m not threadshitting, I’m seriously curious as to why this poll is being conducted.
I might start one asking which side your dick hangs to, if you’re male.
Well, in my wife’s sedan, the cap is on the passenger’s side. This is an 05 Pontiac G6. There is a point to this, because when you are at a gas station that has people lining up to get gas, you must go against the flow of traffic to get to a pump, as most people’s cap is on the driver’s side (my truck, for example).
My primary vehicle these days is my motorcycle, though, so… the cap is in between my legs!
Subaru Outback - right side
Dodge Neon- right side
Ford Mustang- left side
the arrow next to the gas pump icon on the gauge tells you which side its on.
My gas cap is on the passenger’s side. I actually find this handy since the lines on left side of the pumps are shorter or nonexistent.
Where is this magical place that people only pull into the gas station from one direction? I want to go to there.
Here, gas stations are regularly jammed up because people pull in from all directions, stop three feet away from the pump so you can’t pass them, stop at the first pump instead of the forward pump, and worst of all, leave their car sitting there while they do their entire week’s grocery shopping in the convenience store! ARGH!!!
We own two cars;
1996 Toyota Tercel - left (driver’s) side.
2012 Hyundai Elantra - left (driver’s) side
Curiosity-do I need any other reason?
Sams Club and Costco are both set up so you can only approach the pumps from one direction. I won’t go out of my way to buy gas at either, but I fill up if I’m below half a tank when I go there.
I couldn’t tell you without looking. Since I discovered the little arrow on my gas gauge, my brain doesn’t seem to want to bother with committing that sort of thing to memory. I do know that my Saturn Vue and my Dodge Grand Caravan have gas caps on opposite sides. Between those and my motorcycle, I’ve got left, right, and middle. Though, I’m not completely sure which is which.
Because it should have been standardized long ago.
That was covered in 04 with a brief zombie reappearance a few months back
Opposite my gas cap. Can’t be too careful.
Had an old Vette where it was in the middle between the rear window and the bumper since there was no trunk, and several old cars I used to own all had the cap in the middle behind the license plate. I guess rear-endings made that a thing of the past.
I asked this a while back. The Car Talk guys said that most of the time it is on the opposite side from your muffler.
I just got a car, mine is on the driver’s side (the left), but I don’t know which side my muffler is on.
I recall cars in my youth that had the filler under the license plate (which folded down) in the middle or the back of the car. You could go to whichever pump had the shortest line.
