What size is your house? (Sq M or Sq Ft)

South Georgia here.
2000 sq. ft.
Attached garage
3 bedrooms/2 baths
19’ x 40’ enclosed back porch with hot tub

Soon to be 24’ x 36’ inground pool with privacy fence around backyard

Houston, Texas townhome
1700 sq. ft
2 bedrooms/2 1/12 baths
detached 2 carport
20’ x 10’ patio with hot tub

Suburb north of Dallas, TX
3700 sq. ft
4 bedrooms, 1 office, 3 1/2 baths

We are building:

3300 sq. ft.
5 bedrooms 3 1/2 baths
2-car garage
finished basement w/ den and family room

Should be ready in March.

Northeastern Florida suburb
1718 sq ft on (I’m guessing) 1/4 acre
3 bedroom/2 bath/ attached 2-car garage
We also have a basement - you don’t usually find these in FL, but our lot slopes rather steeply, so the back half is over a walk-out basement. The front half is over a crawlspace.

Sweet Jesus, you Americans live in some enormous houses. I’ll bring down the average for you, Aro.

Dublin city
1,100 sq. ft.
3 beds/one bath/decent garden
Pretty average semi-detached in a decent area.

Calgary, Alberta

2 beds/one bath/varranda

~1,000 sq. ft.

Ditto. Except substitute “Northeast Kansas” for “Northern Ireland”.

I do have a full (unfinished) basement, though, so technically I could double the size of my house, if I weren’t poor . . .

1800 sq. ft., 3 BR/2 BA rowhouse on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC/

1400, 3 beds, 2 BA.

Houston, TX.

2500 sq ft

4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms,

Tucson, AZ

(note: trying to care for and maintain a large home quickly takes away some of the rewards of living in one. I live in my finished basement most of the time. Like the cozy-ness))

1500 square feet, 2 floors (3 if you count the attic)
3 bedroom/2 bathroom
2 car garage, 3 acres of forest, swimming pool, 4 decks

We also have a huge vaulted ceiling in the living room, and our upstairs is not so big. However, we do live at the end of a private drive (cul de sac) with a fountain and the entire property around our house is riddled with gardens.

2.5 bdrm/2 bath cottage. Square footage is kinda questionable due to remodeling and add-ons, but probably around 1230.

Los Angeles area.

Ary, your bungalow is not small compared to the other cottages in my neighborhood (average 900).

North Atlanta suburbs. 1800 Sq Ft. 3 BR, 2.5 bath.

Very small yard.

My SO and I are trying to save some money, so I might win the “smallest apartment” award:

426 Sq. feet. 1 bed, 1 bath.

LA area

Yikes.

I beat you in the tinyness contest lightingtool. My apartment is 320 square feet. That’s the standard size for an old New York tenement. But back then it would have had seven people in it, and now it’s mine, all mine.

I live in a condo at 560 sq. feet. Aro, I wonder what the average was before and after these last 3 posts.

West MI.

2600 sq. ft., small city lot, ranch style (We have a large finished basement, so this adds to the total).
3 bedrooms w/ non-conforming 4th.
1 1/2 bathrooms.
1 stall garage.

Love the house, wish the garage and yard were bigger though.
