What are the must have applications for my Pocket PC? Are there any wordprocessors, spread sheets, personal finance, PIM or other utility programs that I should get? Or should I just stick with the default programs in the machine?

Go to the microsoft site and get Pocket Streets and download some of the city maps they have, even better, get a copy of Streets and Trips, which gives you the ability to create your own maps.
