What song contains the phrase "maximum joy?"

I seem to recall it being at the end of a line, and seem to be hearing a man’s voice, and it being a “cool” song along the lines of “Money for Nothing.”

Anyone? Anyone? Beuller?

Sade’s “Smooth Operator”.

It also features a great saxophone solo.

Hm. I just read the title of the thread (without reading your post) and I’m guessing there are at least TWO songs that contain the phrase “maximum joy”.

Esprix, I’m quite the pop trivia meister, and I also have my trustworthy companion Moosie to help me out on this (ICQ’ing her the thread URL as we speak), but we need more info.

Approximate year, band / solo artist, instruments used, high voice / low voice, more lyrics… help us out here!

"You know how complex women are"

I know Sade is correct, but now that you mention it, it seems like something I may have heard in a WHAM! song or something.

Now there’s nothing unexpected about the water giving out; “Land” is not a word we have to shout.

“He moves through space
with minimum waste
and maximum joy.”

I do remember the Sade song, but there is another one I’m thinking of, and you’ve got about all that sticks in my head. Maybe 80’s, early 90’s, male baritone/low tenor, and it’s at the end of a phrase. Rhythmically/musically (and I don’t know if you speak it), it’s a 4/4 measure, starting on beat 1, it’s a quarter note, an eighth note, a dotted quarter note (or another eighth note tied to a quarter note), and a quarter note (beat 4), as in “max-i-mum-joy.” The notes may be along the lines of A-F-G-G.

Unless I’m mixing up songs in my head, which is known to happen.
