What song is this?

This is something I’m good at as a rule but my google-fu is off today I guess.
I was in a store today and they had music pumped in, they played a pop tune I haven’t heard in years. It’s from the late 60s or early 70s I think and it has a bit of a vaudeville feel to it, like “When I’m 64”

Some of the lyrics were:
…Baby I know
…Baby I’m so
…in love with you
…And if only I could make you say I do.

I remember it from AM radio in the early 70s when I was a pup.

I hope this is enough to go on.

Thanks dopers.

It was! That’s “Oh Babe, What Would You Say” by Hurricane Smith, who, incidentally is Norman Smith, who engineered The Beatles’ records until 1966.

Wow that was quick, Thanks you nailed it. His voice reminds me of Big Al from NRBQ. I would have thought he was a yank.

thanks again.
