What songs are "sinister"

Nebraska by Bruce Springsteen is pretty spooky. It’s amazing how powerful a guitar and harmonica can be.

Can’t comment on the new one until I buy the album on Monday.

Musically, I find it very dark and sinister. The same with “Nothing’s Impossible”. Lyrically, neither are particularly threatening.

Wow - I thought for sure someone would’ve beat me to this. The song that immediately popped into my mind is by the always-dependably sinister Tom Waits - Heigh Ho (The Dwarfs Marching Song) from Stay Awake, the wonderful compilation of Disney songs by different artists. There are a few creepy songs on this album - Hi Diddle Dee Dee (An Actor’s Life For Me)& Desolation Theme by Ken Nordine are particularly disturbing.

Also, I always found bIn The Air Tonight** by Peter Gabriel to be pretty sinister.

Tom Waits has a lot of dark, sinister-sounding music. Listen to songs like the twangy “Goin’ Out West,” the noir-sounding “Jockey Full of Bourbon,” “Reeperbahn” (influenced by Weimar-era cabaret music, like Berthold Brecht and Kurt Weill), and the self-explanatory “And the Earth Died Screaming.”

I have a CD called “Stay Awake” which consists of various artists covering songs from classic Disney films. Tom Waits’ version of “Heigh-Ho (The Dwarfs Marching Song)” is just… creepy.
