what sort of documents management and BPM software do Congress member offices use?

I would imagine that members of Congress, or else their staffers, have all sorts of mail going in and out. Plus, if they are proactive about giving patronage to aggrieved constituents seeking justice out of the government bureaucracy, presumably they need to keep track of a lot of official papers and private counter claims going back and forth.

So how do they run their IT operations? If you have a team dedicated to doing battle let’s say with the veterans benefits bureaucracy, it sounds like you need to manage documents if not necessarily just as well as the opponent than at least “good enough”. But, perhaps on a more hopeful note, presumably different Congress member offices are doing similar things in similar situations, so potentially there might be an economy of scale in developing and supporting such tools.

What’s the SD here? While the executive branch is happily computerizing all the way to total information awareness, what are the legislators up to?
