Someone playing piano the wrong way.
Film locations that are obviously from Southern California. Living in this area
for nearly all my life I’ve seen this happen more times than I can count. For example,
downtown Los Angeles used to represent a street in New York City. Downtown
Orange used a small to medium sized midwestern town. The semi arid hills of
Southen California used for places that have wetter climates (the civil war era south,
outdoor locations of the MAS*H TV show, medieval Europe, etc.).
Canadian flags and the CN Tower were seen in many of the outdoor shots in Due South, which was set in Chicago.
I saw The Saint (the movie with Val Kilmer) in the cinema of the Radisson in Moscow. Even the expats in the audience were groaning at the geography of the city depicted in the film.
Heh. I was in LA in about 1980 with a friend, and while driving north on the 405, he pointed at the hills, and said, “Hey look! We’re in MASH!”
Combat! was filmed in and around MGM’s European Village in Southern California. If you watch carefully, you can occasionally see afternoon traffic in the background as Sgt Saunders leads a patrol through the woods.
Inconsistent plot lines. Two from Seinfeld:
Jerry tells Bookman the library cop he doesn’t drink coffee. Then WTF is he always drinking at Monks?
In one episode Jerry says to George “you don’t drink”. But George is seen in other episodes drinking.
Abrupt ends to conversations (especially on telephone). Not that I want more small talk & niceties in films/tv but it’s always jarring when conversations just end.
Scenes in cars where the driver is mindlessly floating the steering wheel back and forth.
That bugs me too. I get that they don’t want unnecessary liquids sloshing around the set, but why not put a beanbag inside so that it has some weight?
