Ok, who the hell is responsible for making the Pit have rules?!
AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGg
Being forced to service Liz Taylor and Margart Thatcher thrice daily is not punishment enough for you guys
I’m gonna cry now

The Pit has always had rules, I’m just putting them up in writing now.
The most important rule, of course, is “Don’t make Lynn have to smack you upside the head.”
Hey, hey, hey!
Elizabeth Taylor used to be (and here I’m quoting Dave Barry) “The Most Beautiful Woman In The World”. I realize she’s getting on in years, but have a little respect, huh? Go see Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, Butterfield 8, or Cleopatra, and re-evaluate your position. :p;)
Margaret Thatcher, I have no defense for.
And as to the actual topic of the OP: eh…
CRorex
Evvybody got rulz. Clam down.
I am sorry about your “duties” to Liz and Margaret (does she really always wear a thong?), but where would we be without Pit rules?
People could say fuk
or sht or … who knows??
That would be awf*l. We need rulz. Get used to it. Rulz is good.
Hey, i didn’t do nuthin’!!! I’m not secretly behind the parody cabal!! It was Oswald!!
The only downside to makin’ love to Elizabeth Taylor is catchin’ hell from Richard Burton.
Oh yeah, and that creepy noise she’s been making lately.
Apparently, someone posted a homophobic parody thread without noting the origin of the parody in the OP, thereby breaking two of the rules (both of which had been stated before…)
Like Draco, Lynn is just codifing rules we have always had, but never felt the need to write down in an official way. Kind of like moving from the system of knowing you were doing wrong when you got clopped by a royal guard to being able to tell in advance when you were running afoul of the rules because you had read them.
This can be very shocking: Social rules, being unwritten, can get away with being highly arbitrary and rather harsh: Social ostracism for expressing a desire to learn about what Hitler actually wrote, or public ridicule for dressing like a lumberjack (even if you are okay). Draco ran into a much more extreme version of this problem: Greek social customs called for the death penalty more often than the Greeks themselves were ready to admit, and seeing it written down made them collectively take notice of what they had been doing all along. So harsh, arbitrary rules are known to this day as ‘draconian,’ implicitly scapegoating Draco for the social customs of Ancient Greece.
I hope Lynn doesn’t end up like poor Draco for making clear what the moderators have done, and what we have been expecting them to do, all along.
Excellent Bob Dylan reference!
What creepy noise?
Hehe
Ok you guys took that way to seriously
But seriously, can’t we all play semi-nicely and avoid the posting of more rules?
Well, apparently not, since there have been several of these lame parody threads this week, mods have posted in the threads, and people kept doing it anyway.
