This is the stupidest thing I think I have ever seen on the football field.
Situation - Giants vs Cardinals, :13 left in the half, your 24yd line. You just get the ball after the opponent misses a field goal. You are leading 7-0 and are pretty much outplaying the opposition.
The right play is to take a knee and go into the locker room up 7 points, the wrong play is to throw a SHORT PASS OUT INTO THE FLAT THAT GETS INTERCEPTED FOR A TOUCHDOWN!
WTF were you thinking? If you’re going to even run a play (which you shouldn’t) you need to get WAY down field before you even have a chance of scoring. A short pass is going to do nothing except risk an INTERCEPTION THAT LETS THE OPPONENT SCORE!
Fuck you Kerry Collins for not throwing the ball away, fuck you Sean Payton for calling a play with a short route in it, and fuck you Jim Fassell for not just telling these assholes to take a knee.
