What the Hell, Jack in the Box?

The Snyder family that owns In-n-Out are evangelicals. They’ve been hiding Bible verses on the wrappers at least since before I moved away from southern CA 20+ years ago.

They were also, IIRC, actively anti-mask during the covid shutdowns and defied takeout-only restrictions.

I’m aware of all that. One of these companies has a self-imposed Blue Law and the other you wouldn’t notice anything odd about unless you dumped your milkshake in your lap and saw the tiny text on the inside bottom rim of the cup. A few weeks ago I pointed this out to a friend who had been going there for decades–they had no idea.

Habit makes good burgers and I enjoy the burgers from both Habit and In-N-Out, but I don’t consider them to be “pretty much the same thing”. The burgers from Habit have more of a grilled flavor than In-N-Out, and a slightly different default set of toppings. I have both restaurants in my town, and I’ll go to one or the other depending on which one I’m in the mood for. I don’t go to In-N-Out because I want something fast, I go to In-N-Out because I want In-N-Out.

You also frequently get discounts and free stuff with the app. That applies to most of the fast food apps (including McDonald’s and Subway, I don’t have experience with others).

Jack in the Box is certainly a lot more expensive these days, but then again all fast food places are. They still have cheap and weirdly delicious tacos though. (Seriously, that taco has no reason to be delicious; it has a SLICE OF CHEESE in it FFS, I don’t know why it’s so good.) And by cheap, you get two for $1.29 on the menu, but I think it’s only $0.99 on the app which is the traditional price. I mean, 4 tacos for $2 with modern fast food prices, that’s a pretty good amount of food for that price.

Their sandwiches are like double what they were not long ago though. :frowning:

In your training, did they ever teach you that you could use a Jack antenna ball to transform a Ken :trade_mark: doll into a Jack doll?

No, that never came up.
