So now I’m wondering if the whole Venezuela thing is an attempt to goose his ratings up again. If he keeps this up maybe he can hit that magical 50% approval level. Who’s next? Canada? They have oil.

They made it very clear, that this non-intervention only holds if NK acts first.

all it will take is for Kim to react to one of our ‘normal’ training exercises for Kim to ‘appear’ to have acted first - when he (Kim) will be able to say that he was reacting to the clear provocation of our Military (which has been one of his mainstays forever).

This is why you can’t ratchet up the threats with him.

Here’s Clinton’s statement.

On his weekend visit to South Korea, President Clinton warned that if North Korea developed and used an atomic weapon, “we would quickly and overwhelmingly retaliate.”

Here’s Trump’s statement.

“North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States,” Mr. Trump told reporters at his golf club in Bedminster, N.J., where he is spending much of the month on a working vacation. “They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen.”

“It would mean the end of their country as they know it,” he said.

Clinton specified the use of an atomic bomb, Trump said any threat would be enough. Any threat could include verbal.

But I’m sure you knew that.

Next time, link and/or quote the fucking statement you intend to misinterpret.

Clinton was still talking about a military attack. Notice the use of the word “war”.
Trump was talking about any threat.

TLDR version: The military is not gearing up for war. So that means Trump just made an empty threat. Some people have been saying NK needs to hear this kind of rhetoric. But if there’s nothing behind the threat it’s just bluster, sound and fury signifying nothing. And that makes future threats even weaker.

It seems the Thai news has us right on the very brink, with the first nuclear exchange poised to be fired any moment now. She told them the reality, that this isn’t occupying anyone’s mind at all here in Hawaii, and war does not really seem to be imminent.

It was in response to a reporters question. He said he wouldn’t rule out a military option.

I suppose you wish he’d lay out the boundaries we’d stick to no matter what. No military, no sanctions, no this, that…

Dumbass. Had you taken even two seconds to try and understand what you obviously don’t, you’d see that sanctions on their oil would do more to hurt us here in the US and them even more. You see, we’re a major importer of their oil today and many in the big bad oil business don’t like that kind of talk as it would make oil more expensive worldwide. It would change the norm.

So in essence, the reality is the opposite of what you’re freaking out about when you say Trumps actions are to open up oil for him and Putin.

Not that a shred of facts matter to you.

I suppose a measurable result would be a nuclear free/missile free North Korea today. IE what we were told they’d do when we cut them a break I don’t know how many times before.
