Regarding the OP:
I still think Asimov was right, we are still scared of robotics and the future will laugh at us for those unfounded fears.

Peak Oil.
Legalized reefer. (Go Prop. 19)
You think we’ll find more oil or you think we’ll advance beyond it in one generation?
A combination of both, although one generation does seem optimistic- I’d give it more like 40-50 years before petroleum joins whale oil as something we don’t worry about the scarcity of any more.
Winner: Best username/post combination!
Yeah, but they’ll be amused at the particular immigrants we were worried about, like I am when I hear about how upset many people were at the numbers of Irish who were immigrating in the 19th century.
They’ll be like: “You were worried about Mexicans?! What the hell for?”
The apocalypse. There are both christian and secular (peak oil, global warming) apocalypse predictions will pass and either be minor or not happen.
(Re’ global warming) I concur. I think if anything, they will look back and say, “Why the fuck WEREN’T you worried/afraid enough about this to DO something about it?!” :smack:
As for what they will NOT be worried about and laugh at us for being worried about/afraid of; legalized cannabis, gay marriage/homosexuality in general, and single-payer health care. Hell, most of them already ARE laughing at us. ![]()
