Since he has BCBS, why not switch to a different BCBS Advantage plan? We have BCBS Mass. PPO Blue Value Rx (PPO) and are very happy with it. It has Rx and you can use any doctor in or out of network.
Pardon my being maudlin, but this thread is a great example of what makes this board one of the best places on the web.
S - D - M - B! S - D - M - B! S - D - M - B!
Family for the win!
Thanks! And he did beat the clock. Coverage is all locked in.
The primary reason is the shorter period of coverage for skilled nursing facilities. My father falls repeatedly and he is almost certain to need more skilled nursing before the year is out and have many more such instances in the future. He’ll also have better access to the doctors he needs to see without seeking preapproval. The incident that precipitated his stay in rehab actually happened three weeks ago but it took my niece and his doctor weeks to get BCBDS to preapprove the rehab facility. He was sufficiently delayed and his stay in the facility is expected to be long enough that he will likely miss his consultation for his cataract surgery, which in turn might further delay the surgery.
Indeed. I really am very grateful for the help. With a week or two of time, I could have done research and maybe figured this out reasonably well. With basically two days to work, I was glad for the the compassion and input from everyone here.
She’s been pretty great. My family is often hard to deal with but she was born into it, so she knows the drill.
