Yeah, so I agree with whole bean, was just explaining in detail what I do while trying to avoid the debate as to wether or not it’s “right” 
Dog “tackling” is a pretty useful technique. I’ve seen some pretty small, mild-mannered owners do it to their larger dogs when the dog got out of hand and it seriously takes the dog by surprise, and it works well. It makes me feel like a true “bitch”
