RRC is indeed beautiful, even to just drive through, but it’s hotter than the hinges of hell by now. Wait for cooler weather… it’s much more enjoyable.
The MGM theme park is now closed. (It’s not even listed on the hotel’s website anymore.) It was never very successful because of its relatively small size compared to the parks people visit back home (Disney, Six Flags, the Paramount chain, etc.), the rides are small and few in number, and because of the motherlovin’ HEAT! Who wants to ride a roller coaster when it’s 112 degrees in the shade and there ain’t no shade? Circus Circus knew what they were doing when they decided to put their park under pink glass.
If at all possible, try to get a ticket to “O” at the Bellagio. Simply superb and worth every penny of the $100 ticket. Info at 888-488-7111. I ordered tickets on the web.Theater is dark Wednedays and Thursdays. Rest of the week there are two shows 7:30 and 10:30 p.m. The show is liquid magic!
