I’ll be in Madrid later this month for work. I’ll have Sunday afternoon and evening to myself.
What should I do?
Three words: Museum. Of. Ham.
Oh, yeah. And Garnica at the Museum of Modern Art. But first, the museum of ham.
I’d go to the Prado, and eat some churros and some patatas bravas and drink cold red vermouth from the tap while strolling around the Plaza Mayor.
Puerta del Sol (get churros and hot chocolate at San Gines while you’re there), Plaza Mayor, Gran Via and the stunning Retiro Park.
An easy way to get around is on the hop on/hop off red tour bus line (can’t remember the name). It also has a headphone tour while you’re riding around.
