What to do/see/eat in Montreal

In a couple days, I’ll be taking my first trip to Montreal! I’m super excited - it looks like an incredible city. I know lots of you have probably been, and a couple of Dopers actually live there, so I thought I’d ask you guys if there’s any must-see activity there that pops into your head.

We’ll be staying 5 days. A couple things on our list are various markets and eateries, the Biodome, the Botanical Gardens, and Mount Royal Park. I’ve heard there are some beautiful bike paths, but it’s still a little chilly for that - maybe walking paths?

Anyway, any ideas? I’m up for pretty much anything (well, OK, strip clubs are probably out ;)).

Be aware there is a Biodome and a Biosphere - two very different sights and we almost ended up at the Biosphere when we wanted the Biodome (they’re not near each other).

We had a fabulous fabulous but very heavy meal at Au Pied De Cochon (get a reservation!) and messed up our reservation at Joe Beef but we were really looking forward to it. :frowning:

Had a really great breakfast at the Monkland Ave St Viateur.

We had several great beers at Bier Markt and also good cheese & charcuterie plates.

Here’s a similar thread from last year (but the possibilities were different, it was summer).
