What to do with Obama?

Has he announced building a library yet?

Is like to invite him to my house for dinner. That would be pretty awesome.

  • US Senator
  • US President
  • Dinner Guest at Bone’s house!

Oh yeah. I had totally forgot he was President once.

You asked for two bullet points. I gave you two bullet points. If you want to make the case that “US President” isn’t relevant on the resume of a potential SCOTUS candidate, go ahead. But I’m not going to play “guess the things that CarnalK thinks are relevant to such a resume”.

Nah. I think lawyering jobs are important. I’m not going to play “guess what John Mace’s bullet points are”.

I honestly don’t even know what you’re talking about anymore.

Pretty sure that’s your problem.

I mostly agree, but I also recognize it is pretty subjective and based on contemporary ideas about what a SC justice should be.

There have certainly been even less qualified justices in the past - hell, more than half the SC justices never even had law degrees. A number of them just learned lawyerin’ from reading a book. And of course even being a lawyer( let alone a judge )is not technically a requirement for the job.

Oh, does sarcasm read on the Internet now?

…and Guilder to frame for it.

… and Guilliani to frame for it.

Eh, he’s probably destined for the Head Museum.

You just can’t be in a thread without doing this shit, can you?

Yeah, I can see where:

  • US Senator
  • US President

would be very confusing and the cause of much guess-work. Who knows what those things even mean???

Some presidential administrations ask prior presidents to do diplomatic or other work on behalf of the US government. To a certain extent, this is what SNL parodied in The X-Presidents digital shorts.

However, the current administration seems unwilling to do anything that might make anyone else look good, so that’s not happening.

The only requirement to be appointed to SCOTUS is to be reasonably well-liked by the Senate.

Well, that’s out the window.

And a bit more liked by the president.
