What to See and Do in Washington DC - an Informative MMP

Oh, God, I’m so sorry. That’s one of the hardest things to do. :frowning:

I donate platelets every three weeks, beebs. That should make you happy, yes? Sorry about the baby and the bleeding fella (I’d give him some of my platelets if I could!)

Thanks everyone. She’s 20 years old and just disintegrating. Keeping her going is unfair to her. It’s time, but, oh how I hate it. Hug your little buddies.

Why don’t you give me a chance to help you find out first hand?

Hint: Same order as in the original

{{{Puggy}}}

My car wasn’t ticketed or towed and I just moved it back into our lot - there are enough spaces now that I could get into a legal one. Whew!

Fortunately our company’s moving by the end of June to a newer, bigger building with >400 parking spaces (there are right around 200 employees). So we should be all set!

I found an article today that pissed me right off…er…might be interesting for that class: There’s no misogynist like a woman. (Not the actual title.)

Yays for gotti!

Going to the minirant thread to get some things off my chest.

Phew.

(((Pugs)))

Taters, please report in. We’re worried.
It stopped snowing, but we’re still grocery shopping tomorrow. Unless it snows again! (Shakes fist at sky)

{{Pugs}} I’m so sorry.

Congrats, gotti! You’d like the guy who has his own private computer security business, who sat outside the main hall where Papa Tigs’ conference was going on a couple weeks ago, collecting peoples’ passwords. He plans to go to them and point out the flaws in their security once they return home to work.

Yup, it’s del, surrounded by brackets. Like [del]this[/del].

I’ve had a quiet day. Finished up a short job, then took Isaac out and threw his Kong till he quit. It’s been 55F (13C) and sunny all afternoon, with a lovely clear blue sky and light breeze, so it was a delightful afternoon to sit out and read and toss the Kong. Then, before I could get it in gear to start the next job, I got a call that I’ll be receiving some more congressional [del]drivel[/del] work in the morning. So I decided to take the evening off, watch the Project Runway finale, and get a good night’s sleep. Sounds like the best plan to me.

Back to mindless games or something.

First on 6!

this is the height of my day. …:|…<-- “meh” smilie

**MamaTigs ** - we had a court recorder present in the grand jury room today, and I thought of you. The poor woman was right there and she had to ask one witness to speak more slowly and repeat himself a couple of times. I think he was nervous… So was another witness - I’m no authority on body language, but the second guy was definitely not at ease. heh

Well, at least she spoke up. Was she a stenotype reporter? Too often stenotype reporters will just do their best and trust their trusty backup tape recorder to get it. (And yes, even if you didn’t see one, she definitely had a backup tape recorder going!) In any case, good on her!

Hey.

Drive by - too damn busy and tired lately.

Vacation starts tomorrow. Just. In. Time.

Ahh, a grayhat in their natural habitat…

As long as they limit their activity to “You’ve got security problems, and here’s how to fix them” it’s more or less OK. (There actually is something called certified ethical hacking, and it almost sounds like this guy was doing that.) OTOH, if he says “You’ve got problems and I can fix them for you for a price.” he’s stepped over the line into blackhat territory. Compare and contrast this with a consultant - they can do much the same thing, but you expect a bill from a consultant that you explicitly hired, but you don’t expect to be hit up by some bloke in the hallway who’s been running L0phtcrack or Airsnort and sniffing everything in range.

At risk of sounding like a pile-on, hugs to Pugs. I know all too well what that last visit to the vet is like.

Is a stenotype the funky little machine? Then yeah, that’s what she was using. Plus she did have a teensy, tiny tape recorder - it was no bigger than an iPod. Although the way one of the witnesses was mumbling, I don’t know how good the tape will be.

Just for the record, I don’t want to go to work tomorrow. <sigh>

Sleepy.

Is it too early to go to bed?

I think I’m caught up now…

Hugs, Puggy - how sad.

I’ve got Spaz signed up for next Monday (I was going to start asking for volunteers when she piped up).

Yay on the CISSP for gotti!

I read everything - I swear! - but apparently I’m too tired to respond to most of it.

Guess I’ll go find something to eat and then wander back…

Hugs to all…

GT

Aww, sorry Pugs!

Congrats to Gotti, even though I still don’t know what a CISSPS (?) is. LOL

I’ve been a bit under the weather the past couple of days; am feeling better tonight, though, thankfully. I’ve been reading posts, but didn’t feel quite like posting, if that makes any sense. I’ve also been watching some of the shows on TNT. Last night, I watched Saving Grace, then later caught Missing without a Trace, which I’d never seen before. TNT has got some good original shows, plus some good shows in syndication - and they just started showing My Name is Earl!! And they’ve also got Las Vegas! So I guess this means TNT is probably going to be my new favorite station … well, I also love TCM. This is replacing TVLand, which has been wandering down a strange path lately, showing movies and too many 80s sitcoms. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hugs to all who need them! And Kai, little Tea is precious!!!
