What was the last concert you attended?

P!NK about a couple of years ago.

Lady Gaga, last week. Incredible show.

Heart, with Joan Jett. Or Johnette Napolitano of Concrete Blonde in a solo acoustic show. I can’t remember the order.

I didn’t answer in the last thread.

The last time we went to a show was the last time Al Stewart and Dave Nachmanoff played here in Houston. May 2014, IIRC. They’re about due to come back through again.

The Cleveland Orchestra at Blossom Music Center, last summer. The seat was giving me extraordinary back pain, and I had to leave.

I’ve been to two concerts in my life. Both during a festival in 2011. The first was INXS which my wife won VIP tickets to, the second was a week later seeing Chris Isaak (MIL bought us tickets and I took my wife straight from hospital after getting her appendix out).

Blackberry Smoke at Aura in Portland, ME. It used to be this shitty little one (long) room club and they transformed it into a mini auditorium. And Smoke was great as usual. Third time I’ve seen them in Portland.

I did walk by a Joe Bonamassa concert on the Pier the other night and stood and listened for a little while.

Richard Thompson in Santa Barbara, circa 1995, I think.

As I’ve grown older, I can’t tolerate volume anymore, so concerts have become a thing of my past. I do wish I had stretched a point and gone to see Prince in his final tour, when he came to San Jose, though.

Geoff Muldaur, in a church basement in Worcester. Afterwards, we went to see the Hip Swayers at Vincent’s bar, which was actually a lot more fun.

The Suffers, Chicano Batman and Spoon at a festival show last month. We left before the last act, Amos Lee and Preservation Hall, cause we’re old. I didn’t respond to the last thread, but we see a few shows a year,. Off the top of my head, The Decemberists, Aimee Mann, Richard Thompson, Wilco, Tweedy, The Black Keys, St. Vincent and David Byrne, The Pixies, The New Pornographers, Los Lobos. That’s all I can think of right now.

Diana Krall, at the Ste. Michelle Winery, last month. Magnificent!

Kim Richey.

Yeah, I know you’ve never heard of her. Very talented singer/songwriter.

But this isn’t me posting an obscure artists so I seem cooler than you. It’s really that I am cooler! No actually all it means is that I volunteer at a local non-profit music venue that features a wide variety or artists, and whatever profits are made from the shows get plowed right back into the community via music lessons hosted at the venue for kids from the area.

So my listing of last concert I went to will change just about every week.

Pearl Jam, in – was it that long ago? – 2013.

It was my third time seeing them live, but the first since the actual '90s. I had a pretty good ticket, and they played a GREAT set. Pretty much everything I would have wanted to hear from both their newest album and their back catalog.

This, but the night before in Milwaukee, was going to be my answer, but I remembered as I was typing this that we saw Michael McDermott play a concert in the park down the street last week, so that.

We saw Roger Waters in San Jose back in June.

Ack! replied to the old thread.

Anyhoo…

Rodrigo Y Gabriela a couple of weeks ago at our local outdoor amphitheatre. Some very physical guitar playing going on there, lots of banging and sawing away, despite the woman limping onstage in crutches. We’d been cheap and bought lawn “seats” way in the back but when we walked in, an attendant offered us dedicated seats about a dozen rows from the stage.

Korpiklaani? Translates as “The Forest Clan”, I believe. I’ve seen them a few times, great band.

Actually we saw Roger Waters here in Sacramento.

Sting, backed by his son Joe Sumner and a very good Mexican country-rock band called the Last Bandoleros.

Yeah, those.
