Martin Sheen recites a poem at the end of the show and all I remember was the it was a great poem and that it was written by a 1917 Nobel prize winner in literature. A Google search concluded the poet was Karl Adolph Gjellerup. Does anyone know the name of the poem?
Does this look like the poem in question?
If so, it is Where the Mind is Without Fear by Rabindranath Tagore, India’s Nobel laureate for literature (1913). He was a friend of Gandhi and actually gave him the name “Mahatma” or “great soul.”
Yup, that is it. I don’t know why I thought it was the 1917 Nobel prize winner. Anyway, thankyou.
