What was your biggest screw up at work?

Back in the day, I used to drive one of these. Well, when at the pier, the boat is plugged into a pretty hefty electrical shoretie, as well as the mooring lines. Getting underway one summer day, we brought aboard all lines save the shoretie.
:smack:

The sound of fiberglass and metal all cracking and breaking and ripping out of the side of the cabin is one I won’t soon forget. Forunately for me, the damage was localized to the recepticle, and it took the support electrician a few hours to fix it. He was not happy with me.

The Chief of the station took it real well. He told me “if that’s the worst you do as a coxswain, then you’re doin’ all right.”
