What was your first concert?

Bob Weir at the Warner (or National Theater on June 9, 1982. It was my 18th birthday. Oddly enough, I don’t remember a blessed thing about it except going to the bar (I loved it, a bar in the theater selling drinks during the show) and saying, “You know, its my 18th birthday.” From then on, its all a complete blank.

This is embarrassing beyond words, but what the hey…

Herman’s Hermits
Baltimore Civic Center
late 60s/early 70s - I was in high school - beyond that, I can’t remember

I think Buffalo Springfield was on the bill too…

[sub]Bobby Vinton concert. With Grandma. I was 8. I was bored. I didn’t speak Polish too well at that age. (She had to babysit me that night, so she bought an extra ticket.)[/sub]

First concert with someone I was dating: The Beach Boys. I fell asleep (they [date and BB] were boring - so sue me!).

First concert I stayed awake through: Santana (1981).

I’ve stayed awake at concerts since then.

My first concert was Depeche Mode at the Forum (L.A.) in 1988. I was 16, and I screamed every time Dave Gahan shook his tush in those tight white jeans.

It’s been a while since I’ve been to a show; my schedule doesn’t quite allow for me to be out nights.

The last show I went to was Royal Crown Revue at The Derby last year.

My first concert was August 1999- Black Sabbath with Drain-STH and Godsmack opening. Ozzy was sick that night, and had cough syrup and water sitting nearby for between songs. It was still pretty cool.
The only other major concert I went to was to see the Smashing Pumpkins on Easter 2000. It was in a gym at Kent State University, so I could see the band pretty well. An inflatable Easter bunny was tossed through the crowd, and at one point James pretended to wrestle it. I wish I could have been at their last concert last Saturday.

Def Leppard, 1987, the Hysteria tour. Awesome for a first concert, kick-ass laser show. Queensryche opened…I didnt notice them much that night, but they turned out to be one of my fave bands ever. Much later I got to see them preform the entire Operation: Mindcrime record in concert. That one’s in the top 3 metal albums ever.

Damn, I wish I could smell pot.

Oingo Boingo at the Greek in Los Angeles in 1987. I don’t think they were supporting anything with that show, they would just do these random shows sometimes. They were great.

Hehe my first concert (not counting orchestral concerts, ect.) was the Y-100 Wing Ding in '97. The main act was Hanson. And then I went to two other Hanson concerts after that. Yeah, I still like them  Anyway my first rock concert was the ZETA Weenie Roast in '99 in Bayfront Park with Foo Fighters, Jimmie’s Chicken Shack, and Days of the New. That was my second time smelling pot but my first time knowing that it was pot I was smelling. My last concert was on Saturday (12-2) and it was Deftones, Incubus, and Taproot at Sunrise Musical Theatre. A damn beautiful concert, that was. “I could float here forever…” I miss it :frowning:

I have only been to two real concerts in my whole life. Billy Joel, and the Up in Smoke tour (Eminem, Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg). Those two don’t really go together.

My first was Van Halen; we had floor seats about 10 rows back and I couldn’t hear anything for about 2 days!
