What/Where is Phallustein?

I’m putting this in Cafe’ Society because i first heard this word in a song.

I enjoy listening to the British black metal band Cradle of Filth. In their lyrics however they mention “Phallustein” quite a bit, i’m not sure if its a reference to a piece of literature or a geographic locations.

I’ve searched on Wikipedia on a few occasions and nothing turned up. Does anyone know what/where Phallustein is?

Psst. It’s a play on the word: Palestine.

It’s in the Middle-East, sort of near Israel.

Thanks, that was my original guess, but i wasn’t sure.

Cite? It always seemed to me that it was just born out of the ubermacho metal aesthetic, but I haven’t looked all that closely.

I would assume Phallustine is in your pants…unless you’re a woman (in most cases).

To help with the debate, i will quote a couple lyrics of theirs and show how they use the word.

Their fourth album was entitled “Dark Faerytales in Phallustein”

In the song “The Rape and Ruin of Angels” there is a lyric “Bondage in Phallustein”

There are several others, but each reference tends to point at it being a location.

Sophomoric geographic humor: Phallustein is, of course, adjacent to The Great Rift Valley.

That, and/or Philistine.
