What will happen if GOP steals the 2026 election? What should happen?

I just posted this in the Mid-Term Cheating Watch thread:

I seldom cross post, but in this case, I think it’s important.

And yes, it will be a multi-faceted attack. As noted by @Gordon_G, we’re already seeing it happen.

Can you tell us why we are restricted to plausible reasons why Trump does things?

No. The idea that he “knew” how voting machines work is the lie. The same kind of lie as his “stable genius” claims, or amazing people with his ability to ace cognitive tests.

We don’t need such a confession anyway. We know he has tried to cheat. He “confessed” by being recorded in his phone call where he was caught trying to extort Georgia into “finding” just enough votes for him to win.

What matters is whether he has ever succeeded at such a thing, and that’s where you get into conspiracy theories. Especially ones that suggest he was able to increase his share of the Black vote that way, by, what, being able to figure out which votes were being made by Black people somehow and flipping them?

It only takes a little bit of actual thinking to pop the bubble of claims like that.

We know these things happen. That’s why these machines get audited. They aren’t perfect and glitches occur, and get fixed and accounted for.

Anecdotes about these problems are meaningless. What matters is actual documentation of the machines being tampered with to force a result. You’re not going to find them. You remember those huge defamation lawsuits in regards to voting machines? They stemmed from people trying to make those claims which had no basis in reality.

Seriously? You see that as an unbreachable wall? You believe nobody has any knowledge of what districts have predominantly black or hispanic populations?

To affect the Black vote for the entire country to a significant degree, yes.

And why just that demographic? It makes zero sense.

What makes more sense is that they didn’t like Harris. You don’t need to go tin foil hat to explain it.

This is the legacy of 2000. We can’t have a presidential election anymore without the losing party wrapping itself in conspiracy theories about how the other party cheated.

Republicans have conspiracy theories about the Democrats cheating in elections the Republicans won.

Best typo of the month.
