What will the world look like in 2100?

Dick Clark will still be doing New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, but he’ll just be a head floating in a beaker by then.

Petroleum as energy will no longer be viable and most energy will come from the sun.

Brazil will emerge as the world superpower, surpassing even China (large parts of the Chinese mainland will be uninhabitable for all but the poorest of the poor due to pollution).

Factory jobs and most unskilled labor will pretty much be eliminated due to automation, leading to the favoring of communism and socialism over capitalism. The descendents of Latin Americans emigrating to the U.S. in our time will become the majority race and will hold most of the high-income jobs, aided by Brazil. Spanish will be a curriculum requirement in schools.

The Second American Civil War will have already been fought and won (or lost, depending on who’s side you’re on). Alabama, Arkansas, Texas, Mississippi, Georgia, and Louisiana will cease to be states under the Union, but will remain U.S. territories. Puerto Rico will be a state.

Watching someone play video games will look like watching them watch TV.

Paper money and coins will be gone.

The Detroit Lions still won’t have won a Super Bowl.

So you sayin’ '01 is their year?
