Nope- not a colour association- I’ve already tried the blindfold thing.
Pink wines taste weird and unlike red or white wines.
Maybe you’ve not tasted a really well made pink wine, or you haven’t tried one in a style you like.
There are just too many variables for anyone to pinpoint why you wouldn’t like them. The process of making a pink wine varies, as do the varietals. The final style, color, etc. can be so vastly different, I don’t think there is any one characteristic someone could point to that would explain why they taste weird to you.
That said, most of the big commercial pink wines are a bit on the sweet side, while still not being a ‘sweet’ wine, which I think some people can find a little off-putting. I know I do, I tend to prefer the dry styled wines, although I’m not opposed to a hint of sweetness if the libation is otherwise balanced.
Given my user name, I have to contribute to this thread. Tonight it will be Guenoc Cabernet Sauvignon, accompanying steak.
Amarone is too expensive for anything but a rare treat.
Pabst Blue Ribbon. And probably a liter of Bota Box Pinot Grigio – have to take a (stupid assmouth cuntwhore little baby junior son-of-a-bitch college algebra test online tonight – which for some reason I didn’t test out of – need to stay limber).
Agreed. Got to a good wine shop, tell them what kind of wines you like, and ask them to recommend a Rose or two. Chill it to the proper temperature on a nice summer evening, and serve with some Rose-friendly aps. It’s a great way to kick off the evening.
