Wondering how Africans (or, any other nation other than America) describe the black race officially?
You are aware that there are about 700 to 3000 different languages and dialects spoken in Africa alone and that each one may or may not have a concept for race and thus different words for people of dark skin. I’m not sure I understand your question.
I’ll clarify.
What word or words do citizens of England (or Australia, or any English speaking nation) use to describe what Americans describe as the Black race. Is it the same? Or is there some other description?
As far as my personal experience goes, anglophone Africans have generally referred to themselves simply as black, and francophone Afrcians say nior (black).
However, I wouldn’t necessarily say this is a recognition of “race” as such. For example, I suspect many Bantus in West Africa would not recognize pygmies as being the same as them, even if they are the same color.
