What would be the most Outrageous ad during the Superbowl for any Candidate?

If any of the candidates decide to run a superbowl ad, I’d say it would be the dems - both of them. It can’t be political in nature, it would have to be fun and light. I wonder who is going to float the big bucks for an ad. I know Barack blew everyone out of the water with his January earnings, so his liklihood of throwing an ad in there would be fair to good. Hillary wants the people to really like her again and so she may spring for it. Romney has the money, and McCain - well McCain had had some issues with money so we’ll see.

[copycat] Most Outrageous? I’d say an ad like the Oprah and Letterman one last year - with Obama and Hillary snuggling up on the couch sharing some popcorn.

Or maybe an ad with Bill Clinton and Michelle Obama in a ring with boxing gloves on duking it out…Of course Michelle Kicking his butt - and Hillary and Obama commentating on the match.

[obscure] Or House [Hugh Laurie] ripping both Hillary and Obama a new one for some odd politically charged ailment.

What do you think?
*Mods if this is better in the Cafe please feel free to throw it over there.

Hillary could come on giving some somber and boring message at a podium. In mid-sentence, “Baby Got Back” by Sir-Mix-Alot blares and she dances enthusiastically on stage.

Redo the Nationwide Kevin Federline one, but use Ron Paul instead.

I saw just today on the tube that a 30-second spot during the Superbowl costs $2.7 million.

With 90 million predicted viewers, might it be cost effective?

I have no cite. These facts(?) came on while I was reading, something.

Hillary Clinton has her leather bustier ripped off during the halftime show revealing a bronze nipple ring in the shape of the Presidential Seal.

Dammit, Valgard. I was going to suggest that Hillary reenact Janet Jackson’s wardrobe malfunction in a spoof of an inauguration speech or SOTU address …

Mike Huckabee fires hamsters out of a cannon so we remember he’s still running.

It’s just a hypothetical anyway since no network will run political ads during the super bowl.

Meaning no political figure can be in any ads or that the ads cannot be of a political nature at all? Because a skit by any nominee that is not political - just want to show thier face - wouldn’t fit the rule right? So they could go ahead and do it? I don’t know the answer…

I do know I am campaigning between 1 and 4 in CT on Sunday! I can’t believe the support in the region…Very psyched! The nightly news out of hartford had Obama gaining huge momentum in CT…

…while singing “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around” w/Tom Petty!

Well, in 2004 they wouldn’t air a number of ads, including one from MoveOn.org, that had political content.

But it seems this year they’ve changed their tune. Obama will be airing an ad, found here: http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/.

Obama bought ads on local stations during the Super Bowl. He didn’t buy national ads.

A small distinction, but an important one.

Bostonian checking in: I saw an Obama ad on the first break after the final score. Nothing during the game.

We didn’t have any political candidate ads but there were a ton of spots for both sides of the CA ballot propositions 93-96 (r.e. Indian casino gaming).

Aside from the obvious Victoria’s Secret ad we all liked the first Bud commercial (flaming breath) the best.

Saw his ad right after halftime, which surprised me. That’s some major $$ spent.
