What would LOTR characters drive?

My apologies if this has been done before. If it has, please direct me to the thread.

Been going through a lot of LOTR postings and was wondering, “What would the LOTR characters drive?”

My guesses, in order of them popping into my head, and quite incomplete and quite open to discussion:

Sauruman: Hummer H2 - all wheels and machinery, and a lot of smoke. Inefficient, don’t care for anyone else, go anywhere type of vehicle.

Gandalf: Early 80’s F150 Can go through hell and back, lasts a long time, can carry lots of fireworks and an extra staff.

Merry and Pippin: Toyota 4Runner 4X4 The kind of truck young people (hobbits) get in trouble with. Would probably have mud all over the sides and a few of farmer Maggots’ veggies in the bed.

Aragorn: Jeep CJ7 'Nuff said.

Bilbo (after The Hobbit): A Mithril Cadillac CTS with the left blinker on all the time.

and just for a little more humor…

Treebeard: A Woody

Eomer has a F-250 or similar with the full towing package and a 4 horse Sundowner gooseneck trailer with living quarters. Don’t forget the AMHA sticker (American Mearas Horse Association) on the back windshield.

Faramir drives a silver Honda Civic. He’s the practical type, dontcha know.

Agree with you on Eomer.

Uruk Hai - a bunch of ATV’s.

Gimli - Bobcat - ya know, one of them little front end loader / bulldozer type things you see on small construction lots.

Dunno about Farmir. He wants to keep up with Boromir and get over land. Maybe a Ranger or a Chevy S-10 type 4X4. Boromir, of course, would drive an Excursion 4X4 or a Chevy Avalanche 4X4. Gotta impress Daddy.

Legolas?

Legolas, something cool and sleek… Porshe Boxter… in silver!

like the one seen Here

Gimli’s gotta be driving the Hummer. Saruman isn’t a Hummer guy. I see him in a stretch limo, with Wormtongue in a chauffeur outfit driving him.

Legolas, definitely a Porsche. Or a Ferrari GT 250 California… oooh yeah, the Ferrari. Yeahhhh.

Eowyn drives an Acura. I don’t know why, but she does.

Tom Bombadil drives an electric car. What was that GM one…the Impact?

Gollum drives a beat up 1962 VW Beetle.

Galadriel and Celeborn have matching silver Mercedes.

Who would drive a Mustang? Boromir?

Samwise drives a humble Mini-Van with built-in DVD players for the kids and a GPS Navigation system.

Gimli drives a diesel, whatever it is it’s a diesel.

Frodo doesn’t drive, he could never get focused enough to pass the test.

I think Tom and Goldberry would have to drive an old VW bus…or am I thinking of Bored of the Rings here?

Nonsense!

All Dwarves ride Harleys, as is well known.

Bah. Only servants of the Enemy would dare to pollute the clean air of Middle-Earth with filthy, noisy internal combustion engines.
Dwarves on mountain bikes, hobbits on skateboards.

i agree with the doctor on this one, at least his first statement.

the elves would be using segways. hobbits use jump ropes in the shire, skateboards for longer distances.

…a great picture just popped into my head. orcs on razor scooters.

I think Legolas would most definantly drive a Kawasaki Ninja. The barrow wights would drive 15ft. long black Lincolns.

I had an image of Eowyn as “Jack-a-Row.” She’d be in some butch vehicle like a Jeep CJ5 / 7 / Wrangler. You’d see her in her rear-view-mirror and say damn, that’s a cool Jeep that guy’s driving. Then she’d pull up beside you and it’d be like, damn, that guy driving the jeep is a damn fine woman.

Katisha - I second Tom and Goldberry driving an old VW bus. A splitwindow camper. Flowers painted all over it…

Delly How about Legolas in a Porsche 959 all wheel drive… Not in production anymore… nimble, yet sleek and out of the ordinary.

hehe to Eowyn’s ride, Baggins111, and allow me to add

She doesn’t let Faramir drive it.

I always figured that the elves would drive electric vehicles, or at least a hybrid given their love of the environment. But yeah, Legolas in a Porsche, definitely. He is a prince, afterall.

I see Pippin and Merry in one of them Honday SUVs, the ones with no carpeting on the floor. (Element?)
