Ah, yes, the war in the Levant. (I say “the Levant” rather than “Israel” or “Palestine” to avoid political identification with either side.) What could be done? I begin this thread to put forth a series of hopefully Solomonic solutions. I. Full Integration
Rather than confine the Jews to a “Jewish state” outside the West Bank, & the Palestinians to a “Palestinian state” in the West Bank, let the Jews be full citizens of a state that contains all the land Israel now holds, & the Palestinians be full citizens of a state that contains all land Israel now holds. This is no contradiction, if it is the same state. One country, for Jew & non-Jew alike, where all are citizens. II. Repatriation of, well, Everybody.
Alternatively, nobody gets the land. Repatriate the Jews to central Asia or someplace, & the Palestinians to elsewhere in the Middle East. The Levant would become a “no-man’s land”–perhaps a large game preserve.
[more to come…]
And he might threaten to cut a child in half. Except, he’d pause because with 500 wives, the chances of the child being his is pretty high. And, let’s face it, getting blood off the newly installed carpets in his great big temple built at enormous public expense is really a bitch.
Let me just add that idea here is to come up with a theoretical solution which may not seem practical, as a path (through understanding what people will accept) to an actual solution. Also to tweak people’s preconceptions. III. The Rom Option
OK! That’s it! Enough fighting! Everybody out! We’re giving the land to the Gypsies!
The Temple Solomon built was described as having all sorts of ornamentation in bronze and gold, but not in silver:
Too bad. I rather like silver. I wonder why it wasn’t considered valuable in Solomon’s time? It’s not like there was a lot of it lying around back then.
