This message appears from time to time on Firefox (I’m on XP home edition latest version) Jitterbug has invalid securirty certificate error
I don’t use Jitterbug, but I did go there once a year ago. Why the error appears now I can’t tell.
I tried a search of all my computer’s files and none has the word Jitterbug. Although MS file search doesn’t find encrypted text.
It’s a problem with Jitterberg’s site. Their administrator is incompetent and doesn’t understand how HTTPS works.
But I don’t even go there.
I doubt it has anything to do with the Jitterbug phone site if you don’t go there. They are a legitimate site.
Since the message is that someone could be impersonating them, I’d assume that’s the case.
Recently, someone has been impersonating Vonage with fake popunder ads that are actually empty but download a trojan horse. Sorry but I lost the information. I think it was on the NY Times, who was also infiltrated.

Times Site Was Victim of a Malicious Ad Swap
The problem might be in your list of certificates. I’m not sure about IE, but with Firefox, go to the Advanced, Encryption tabs then View Certificates button. There is a list of certificates you can delete.
I’m now getting this message every few minutes.
It’s not a problem with Jitterbug itself, I’ve been there and it has a valid certificate.
In fact, when I click on the View Certificate button on this message, it says it has been approved and won’t expire for a year.
I can’t figure out what triggers it or how to make it stop appearing…
I assume you have run your antivirus and antispyware programs, yes? if not, try that. Also go to the Cookies folder and see if there is anything there that looks suspicious.
