Whatcha Readin' May 2010 Edition

I finished Christopher Moore’s latest, Bite Me, the third (and, I suspect, the last) in his vampire trilogy that started with Blood-Sucking Fiends.

Now I’m reading a politicalk/economic book by a guy in a newly-formed writers bunch I just joined. It’s an interesting read, much of which I disagree with. But I’m supposed to be criticizing his writing (and his logic), not his conclusions, so it’ll be an interesting discussion.
After that, I don’t know. I’ve got a stack of “to read” books, ranging from some old (but not yet read by me) Conans to some Victorian SF to a humor book written by a friend.

I’m starting The Stand, which probably isn’t the wisest choice, since the last book I read, despite loving it, took me 3 months and was only around 400 pages. I’m tempted to read Under the Dome instead, since it’s shorter.

On second thought: Amazon says Stephen King’s latest book, Blockade Billy, is waiting for me in the mailbox!

wonderlust, on a scale of 1 to 10, I’d call The Stand a 9 and Under the Dome a 3. Maybe that will help you decide.

Once you find out, please tell us in a spoiler box here, or PM me, as to what Billy’s earth-shattering secret is - thanks!

It does! Here’s hoping the experience of reading it is as great as people’s recollection of it.

Elendil’s Heir, PM sent.

Got it - thanks! Not what I would’ve expected, but interesting.

I have an update but am waiting for the June thread. It’s June over here now.

He started it 24 hours ago, but forgot to linkfrom here.

Thanks!

Thanks for picking up my slack! I guess I am getting old.
