Whatcha reading aloud to your kids?

Skammer the Younger is still a little young for books that can’t be finished in less than 10 minutes. So our current list of books in ‘heavy rotation’ include:
Llama, Llama, Red Pajama
The Little Engine that Could
Sneeches and Other Stories
The Big Red Barn
Love Songs of Little Bear
Go, Dog, Go

Our older daughter is (almost) 8 - we are reading Watership Down (inspired by this thread). Past books include The Hobbit and Charlotte’s Web.

I’m re-experiencing it via audiobook right now because of that thread. :slight_smile: I would love for my kids to read it (or hear it, whichever) but I’m afraid it’s a little too descriptive. Does your daughter’s attention tend to drift off during the descriptions of the landscape, or the weather?
