As you face this most difficult decision, please remember how you would feel if it were you that was suffering instead. You have my sincerest sympathies in what can only be a dreadful time. Please hug your mother for me. Even though I am not a parent, I can hardly imagine her turmoil at this juncture. Hopefully, you might be able to share this thread with her. She has my admiration for the obvious courage that is takes to face this wrenching choice.

Shirley, I’ve recently had close friends go through the decision to remove life support from their beloved. It’s a terrible ordeal, but it’s all anyone can ask to have people that dearly love them present for that time.
