During the credits last night for Project Greenlight, I noticed they had six or seven people credited as loggers. A google search makes me think it has something to do with the timber industry, but I think it is leading me astray.
So the obvious SDMB question: What is this job, and why do they need so many?
Could it be someone who keeps logs? For example, keeps track of what happens and when?
I’ve worked in video editing contexts and I assume that they are referring to groups of people who go through the hours and hours and hours of video tape they shoot during these shows (hence why they need so many) and catalog it so that they can pull out the juicy moments.
At least, that’s how we always used the term.
