What's Better - Resurrect a Zombie Thread or Start a New One?

Capitol Hill?

I prefer to resurrect a zombie, but when you do so, be prepared for several jokes about zombies from people who are so super smart they can read posting dates, and they need everyone to know how super smart they are!:stuck_out_tongue:

Why doesn’t this board have a “Like” button, anyway?

My advice for the OP:

If the thread is active, or less than 6 months old, feel free to reply to it. Most forums I have seen use a similar 6 month rule (anything older than this should be left). If it’s between 6 months and a year old, you should be okay - anything over a year old should be left.

If the thread relates to a thread that is over a year old, best bet would be to make a new thread and provide a link in the OP to the old thread (so that people can read the old one and reply in the new one).

Bumping old threads (referred to as zombie threads on here) is generally frowned upon. I’ve seen members on other forums dig up decade old threads for no reason - which is probably why such zombie threads are best left alone.
