Would you rather have an economy that was ran exclusively by Marxist/Maoist/Leninist principles or exclusively by Objectivist/Social Darwinist principles?
Neoliberalism = Objectivism = Social Darwinism?
Holy false assumption, Batman!!
Not to mention: Marxism = Maoism = Leninism?
Don’t make me choose between North Korea and Somalia.
Wasn’t meaning to imply they were the same but rather an ideology that is founded upon one of or a combination of those in some extreme fundie kind of way.
Neoliberalism, because eventually people will get tired of the inequality and plutocracy and support social democracy.
OK so there are 6 choices, right? I think I know what 5 of those are, but how are you defining “Neoliberalism”. That would probably be my choice, but what is it, according to you?
Is neoliberalism really all that Objectivist?
If you must, choose NK. Society is insane in predictable ways, your death will probably not be a violent one even if you’re in the army, your pitifully inadequate food ration will at least be the same tomorrow as yesterday, and you get better uniforms and parades.
The only comparative advantage Somalia appears to offer is that it is possible to leave.
True. Though I question how much mobility the average Somalian has.
If this question has boiled down to NK or Somalia, I’m choosing Somalia.
Anarchy or brutal warlords are preferable to concentration camps. From the documentaries and interviewed I’ve watched/seen, the NKones are worse than the Nazi concentration camps.
Communism works in small groups where everyone knows everyone else, can see the benefit of working for the communal good and can push on the slackers to be more productive. For larger groups it tends to collapse. Objectivitism works well for an elite subset of the population but fails the rest. So I guess I would probably rather either live in a small communist village or failing that live in an objectivist state and hope that I was lucky enough to be one of the elites.
Who gets sent there?
Who knows exactly what the truth is, but there have been reports that people who didn’t look sad enough at the state funeral for Kim Jong Il were sent to camps in addition to the normal criminals.
Three generations of immediate family members are also sent to these camps for different offenses.
