I made stuffed Cornish game hens with roasted sunchokes and purple potatoes and corn on the side (my kids like corn).
For Christmas Eve I roasted a duck, and had with it two kinds of rice (fried, courtesy of one of my mom’s coworkers, and risotto, which I made), brussels sprouts, and an orange cumin bread. It was my very first time cooking (and eating!) duck and I loved how it turned out. Hugely successful meal (even though the duck got done waaaaaay before I was ready for it to be).
For Christmas day, my mom roasted some prime rib, and had with it some new potatoes with a horseradish butter sauce, brussels sprouts again (we’d forgotten to buy more vegetables :smack:), and biscuits. I also made a pecan pie. Another awesome meal.
